Uniform Update Notice Mandatory Logo Requirement for International Events

The Fencing Association of Hong Kong, China has issued an official notice regarding updates to the Hong Kong team’s competition uniform. In alignment with the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC), a new logo featuring the HKSAR regional flag will be required for upcoming international events.

Key Highlights

New Requirement: The Hong Kong team uniform must display the official HKSAR regional flag.

Effective Date: International competitions: Before the 2025/2026 FIE season.

    • Local competitions: Transition period until the end of the 2025/2026 season (i.e., after the 2026 World Championships).

Patch Specifications:

Only official patches issued by the Association are permitted. For purchase, please contact HKFA

  • Price: HKD $20 each.
  • Sizes: Upper body 6x4 cm, Lower body 9x6 cm.

Summary:

To comply with new requirements set by the SF&OC and FIE regulations, all fencers representing Hong Kong in international competitions must update their uniforms to include the approved HKSAR regional flag. The Association will distribute official embroidered patches for this purpose. Unauthorized patches are strictly prohibited.

Our View:

This uniform update stems from official requirements by the FIE and applies specifically to international competitions. For regular local training and matches, these patches are not mandatory. However, if you plan to compete internationally or wish to update your uniform, please ensure the patch used is regulation-compliant and officially sourced from the Association. This is important for representing Hong Kong correctly and avoiding potential disqualification due to improper attire.
